Library Closed for Labor Day

NPL will be closed Sunday, September 1 and Monday, September 2 the Labor Day holiday. Our Fell Avenue lot bookdrop and off-site bookdrops will remain available. We will reopen at 9 am on September 3.

Event Details

Do you love browsing through cookbooks and trying new recipes? Do you enjoy sampling and sharing those recipes? Grab your apron and join our cookbook club! 

September 8th: Cookies! Bring a batch of your favorite cookies to share. 

November 24th: Did You Eat Yet? by Ronnie Woo + Blog | thedeliciouscook 

These meetings will take place at Heartland Bank.

Choose a recipe from the featured cookbook or theme, prepare your recipe at home, and bring it to the library to share for a tasting with others! Cookbooks will be available to pick up at NPL - ask at the front desk of our branch location! Please indicate in the Special Notes box when registering which recipe you’d like to bring or let us know at ask@normalpl.org or 309-452-1757 so we can avoid duplicates. Please use this space to indicate any allergy concerns you may have as well. Staff will confirm your choice via email shortly after registering. Registration for each meeting is required-only registered cooks will be able to attend. Disposable tableware will be provided - feel free to bring a reusable container as we often have leftovers to share!

Please note: recipes will be prepared in personal kitchens, not commercial spaces; eat at your own discretion.
