Parking at our Temporary Location
Limited parking is available at our 201 W. College Ave. location. Nearby parking is available on Broadway and in the library's lot off of Fell Ave.
Our Lot
Library parking now extends from our doors on the north all the way west to Fell Ave. To enter our Fell and Mulberry parking lot you will need to navigate to Fell Ave and the entrance on the east side of Fell just north of the library. There is a generous, accessible footpath from the west lot to our entry doors.
College Avenue Parking Deck
The College Avenue Parking Deck offers ample parking nearby and is free while you use the library.
You can enter the parking deck directly from Mulberry Street or College Avenue at the east end of the building, or through Heartland Bank’s parking lot on the west end of the building.
Please be sure to be safe as you walk to and from the library. The Heartland Bank parking lot is very busy and has a lot of through-traffic. It is not wise to cut through this lot. There are sidewalks leading from the deck all the way to the library on both the Mulberry Street and College Avenue sides.
The sidewalk on the College Avenue side has some steep inclines, so if that may be a problem for you, you may want to stick to the Mulberry Street side.
Any time that you are using the library, you may get a voucher for free parking in the deck.
As of January 2, 2024, the parking deck process has changed. You can now manage your parking session with the Passport Parking app. The free app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. You can also start a parking session via text and can manage parking online at passportparking.com. Either way, you'll need to create an account.
When you arrive at the library, ask at the Front Desk for a parking voucher. You'll need to validate your parking voucher within the first hour of parking.
The deck is free for the first hour of parking, every day after 6 pm, and all-day Sunday.
Other times, parking costs $1 an hour.
Parking Uptown
There are two lots in Uptown Normal and dozens of street parking spots.
All of the street parking in Uptown Normal has a one hour time limit, so be careful to only use it for shorter trips.
Busing and Biking
The Normal Public Library is located on many bus routes and only half a block from Constitution Trail.
We have ample bike racks on the southwest end of our parking lot. You can even check out a bike lock at the Front Desk to use while you are here.
