Bill Davison, Extension educator for local food systems and small farms with University of Illinois Extension in Livingston, McLean and Woodford Counties, and author Ruth Cobb will share stories about local community gardening to meet food needs during the Great War.
One hundred years later, the Refuge Food Forest on the grounds of the former Illinois Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Children’s School in Normal serves a similar purpose.
This event is part of our World War I Speaker Series that runs from September 2017 to December 2018.
