Illinois Shakespeare Festival sponsors and presents this summer’s Theatre for Young Audiences show Who Stole Cleopatra? at NPL.
This show is best for children ages 4-12 and their families, but all are welcome to attend. If you can't make it to the show at the library but would still like to see it, visit the Shakespeare Festival website for more free performances.

Where do authors get their story ideas? How do you “be strong and carry on” in the face of bullying? How do you overcome a writing block? All of these questions are addressed in Who Stole Cleopatra?, this year’s theatre for young audiences play performed by the Illinois Shakespeare Festival, written by Nancy Steele Brokaw. This fictional play follows a young Will Shakespeare as he tries to find his recently completed play Cleopatra that was stolen right from his writing desk. As he journeys through Elizabethan England in search of his manuscript he meets the most interesting people, one might even say that they are quite the characters! Shakespeare’s misfortune is our gain and we get a taste of nine of his plays as we help his search for his script. And always remember to “be strong and carry on” as you live your creative life!
