Event Details
We are thrilled to be joining the Bloomington Public Library and many other community partners to celebrate Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States which occurs each year on June 19.
Both libraries and many of our valued partners will come together on Wednesday, June 19 from 10 am until 12 pm in the Bloomington Public Library's beautifully renovated building to enjoy a presentation by poet and children's author Janice Harrington, followed by crafts, games, community resources, and information to help us learn more about this important holiday! Registration is not required for this children's event.
The first 200 children to complete and turn in their Juneteenth passport will receive a free book and a treat made possible by the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation, Bobzbay Books, and Miss Kim's Konfections LLC.
