Poetry is Normal Presents Jessy Randall

Tuesday, March 16, 2021 7-8 pm on Facebook Live

Poetry is Normal Presents is supported by the Normal Public Library Foundation.

For Women’s History Month, poet/librarian Jessy Randall will give a talk about women in STEM fields, reading from her series of poems about women who worked in math and science. Jessy Randall's poems, stories, comics, and other things have appeared in Poetry, McSweeney's, and The Best American Experimental Writing. Her most recent book is How to Tell If You Are Human: Diagram Poems (Pleiades, 2018). She is a librarian at Colorado College, and her current project is a collection of research-based poems about historical women in STEM fields (including Elizabeth Blackwell, Mary Anning, Evelyn Boyd Granville, Virginia Apgar, and about 80 others). Poems from the series have appeared or are forthcoming in Analog, Asimov's, Escape Into Life, Scientific American, and Women's Review of Books.
