NPL will be closed Sunday, September 1 and Monday, September 2 the Labor Day holiday. Our Fell Avenue lot bookdrop and off-site bookdrops will remain available. We will reopen at 9 am on September 3.

Registration Begins September 3! Please visit our registration page. Registration of new and returning elementary students and college students will continue until September 22.  

Every fall and spring semester, we will pair college students with grade school students to read together and enjoy the library.  The pairs meet once a week for 45 minutes, throughout the semester.

The goal of Partners in Reading is to foster a life-long love of reading and of the library. Meeting times are flexible!  Participants may select any 45 min time slot on Mondays or Tuesdays from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Sessions begin on the hour.

Registration for the fall semester of Partners in Reading begins September 3. Sessions begin the week of September 23 and run for 8 weeks. Sessions will take place at Milner Library on Illinois State University's campus while the library's main building is closed for renovation.

While we try really hard to match every child that signs up for the program, we hope you’ll understand that the number of kids matched depends on the number of college students that register – and vice versa!
