Program Description

Event Details

We are so excited to welcome you back into the building for Grab and Go service starting Wednesday, October 14th at noon! Doors will open at 12 pm to allow for a few final construction tasks to be completed Wednesday morning.

While the library will look a bit different, you will find that we have used the time we’ve been closed to rearrange, update and enhance our spaces to be as safe and user-friendly as possible.

A Few Notes on Health and Safety:

For the safety of everyone, we are asking that you please adhere to a few guidelines when using the library’s Grab and Go service in the building:

  • Wear a mask that covers your mouth and nose at all times (If you forget your mask, we will have some available)
  • Maintain six feet of social distance from others
  • Make frequent use of the hand sanitizing stations throughout the building
  • Limit your visit to one hour or less
  • When possible, limit visits to one person per household
  • If you are feeling sick, please do not enter the library

Curbside service and browser packs will remain available indefinitely for anyone who prefers contactless service.

Grab and Go Library Service: What to Expect

You will be able to freely browse the shelves, and self-checkout stations will be available and sanitized frequently. Please be sure to bring your library card or download our app, RSA Cat Mobile, and load your library card barcode into the app so that you may use our self-checkout stations.

The library will have desktop and laptop computers available by appointment only to ensure time for proper cleaning and disinfecting between users. Appointments may be made by phone or online, and will be limited to one hour per person, per day. Printing, faxing, and copying services will also be available.

Certain areas and collections of the library will be unavailable for use, including meeting rooms, the Discovery Room, all puppets and toys, children’s computers and iPads, the tech playground, and most seating areas. Notary and test proctoring services are not available at this time.

Our general hours of operation will be Monday-Thursday 9 am-8 pm, Friday-Saturday 9 am-5 am, and Sundays from 1-5 pm.

What's New:

We are thrilled to have three new single-occupancy, fully accessible restrooms on our main floor. We have also reorganized our DVDs to be in alphabetical order and shifted several collections to make them easier to use.

An expanded book sale area has been added on the first floor since we weren't able to hold our large sales this year. We have a large variety of new and gently used items available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting the Normal Public Library Foundation.

We are very eager to open our doors and are so grateful for your patience as we prepared our building to reopen. We can't wait to see everyone's (masked) faces!
