An Inside Look: Tartuffe
Monday, August 30, 2021
7-8 pm at Heartland Theatre Company

An Inside Look, a collaboration between Normal Public Library and Heartland Theatre Company, returns to give a behind-the-scenes view of producing Tartuffe in a contemporary production with the safety protocols necessary during a pandemic! Because the library café is not yet available for live programming, An Inside Look: Tartuffe will take place on Monday, August 30, 7-8 pm, at Heartland Theatre, in the Community Activity Center at 1110 Douglas St., Normal, the building to the north of the circular drive at One Normal Plaza.

An Inside Look: Tartuffe will feature a panel of theatre artists answering questions about producing this 17th-century play in 2021. Tartuffe, the Imposter, by Molière, a comedy about a hypocrite trying to deceive a rich man and his family, is directed by Don LaCasse. He will be joined on the panel by Heartland Artistic Director Rhys Lovell, costume designer Rob Goode, properties designer Emily Glasscock, and scenic designer Rob Fulton, who is also designing lights and sound. Heartland Board member and Normal Public Library assistant Kathleen Kirk will facilitate the discussion. Heartland’s current safety protocols require the audience to be masked for this program.

The play itself opens September 16 at Heartland Theatre.
