Program Description

Event Details

Welcome to "The Book Bistro," a drop-in literary experience!

Young readers can "taste" a variety of books, just like a chef's tasting menu! At this special event, kids ages 8-12 will sample different stories, genres, and characters in short, fun bites. Whether they’re exploring thrilling adventures, heartwarming graphic novels, or funny stories, there’s something for everyone to savor!

How it works:
Drop-in to browse books and just like a restaurant menu, everyone will have the opportunity to “order” books. You’ll sample selections by reading synopses, flip through first chapters, and ask your waiters (our librarians!) for more detail while enjoying light snacks and discussing "tastings" with new friends! At the end of the “meal”, there will be time to check out the books you’re most interested in, so be sure to bring your library card!  It’s a fun and engaging way to experience new authors, genres, themes, and stock up on reading material for spring break! All books available will be geared towards ages 8-12. Once you are finished sampling books, you are welcome to take your check outs home! Parents, kids may finish browsing at different times, so please stay nearby so that when kids are ready, they can head home.

Registration required and space is limited.
