Event Details

Celebrate the freedom to read by exploring some frequently challenged books. Pick up your bingo card from our temporary branch location at 201 W. College Ave. or from Bloomington Public Library. Read books to complete a bingo and pick up a small prize from either library! Prizes can be picked up by September 28 from the front desk or drive-through at 201 W. College, or at the Help Desk, the Bookmobile or drive-up lane at Bloomington Public Library.

This event honors the American Library Association’s Banned Books Week, September 22-28, 2024. The theme for this year’s Banned Books Week is “Freed Between the Lines” and celebrates our love of the right to read and the freedom found in books. The books featured on the bingo board are the top 10 most challenged books of 2023, according to the ALA's Office for Intellectual Freedom.
