Join us to celebrate the opening of our leading 2019 Art Installation, Sheila Asbell Allen

Much thought goes into each piece of her artwork, starting with a basic idea from a personal feeling or experience, or from an interpretation of another person's experience. The figures may seem to be flying, dancing, diving, balancing, or playing some kind of game. Emphasis is placed on shape, light, and line to create precarious points that join figure and shape.

Sheila Asbell Allen received her BFA in printmaking and MFA in painting at Illinois State University. Sheila was an art instructor at Heartland Community College and owned the Paintin' Place Art Supply Store with her husband, Les, in downtown Normal. Her work is included in several collections and has been shown in various group solo exhibition throughout the country.
